At Catholic Charities of Dallas, we believe...
...in the sanctity of human life and in the inherent dignity of the human person as made in God's image.
...human dignity is protected by basic human rights including the right to life and the basic necessities of life such as food, shelter, clothing, health care, education, and employment at a livable wage. Also fundamental is the right to participate in decisions that affect one's life and one's future.
...the one of the principal means by which society and the state must defend human dignity is by giving priority to the needs of the poor, the marginalized and to the defenseless and the voiceless within our midst.
...that the family is the central social instituition that must be supported and strengthened, not undermined. We believe that people have a right and a duty to participate in society, seeking together the common good and well-being of all, espeically the poor and vulnerable.
..in "welcoming the stranger." "Loving our neighbor" has global dimensions in an independent world.
