Farrell, D.D., Bishop of Dallas, was appointed as the seventh Bishop of Dallas on March 6, 2007 by Pope Benedict XVI. Born in 1947 in Dublin, Ireland, and acquiring his higher education in Rome, Italy, Bishop Farrell has served God through numerous positions all around the world. He dedicates much of his time to Catholic Charities of Dallas as a life-long supporter and friend. “The work of Catholic Charities of Dallas is truly the work that Christ calls us all to do,” Bishop Farrell said. “Catholic Charities feeds the hungry, welcomes the stranger and cares for children, families and the elderly in need.” We are honored to receive Bishop Farrell’s support to help those in need in our community through our numerous programs and services. Marianne Staubach is a lifelong community leader and advocate for numerous charitable organizations in North Texas. She was honored as the recipient of the 2009 Catholic Foundation Award as well as has served in volunteer leadership positions for a variety of local organizations including Jesuit College Preparatory School, Ursuline Academy, St. Rita Catholic School, St. Paul the Apostle School and the Bishop’s Educational Trust Fund. She is a Trustee of the Staubach Family Foundation, a family foundation focused on athletics, children and youth services, education, military/veteran organizations and Roman Catholic causes. In addition, Marianne is often recognized in her role as wife to Dallas Cowboys football legend Roger Staubach. Marianne has also served as a longtime friend and supporter of Catholic Charities of Dallas for decades. She shares with us in the video above her experience with the programs and services of Catholic Charities of Dallas and explains why YOU should take action to become involved TODAY! ![]() Colleen Barrett, President Emerita and Corporate Secretary of Southwest Airlines, has been with the company since its inception in 1971. She has held numerous positions including Secretary of the Corporation, Vice President of Administration from 1986 through 1990, as well as Executive Vice President from 1990 through 2001. In October, 2007, she received the Tony Jannus Award for distinguished achievement in commercial air transportation. Among other honors, Barrett has been consistently named and recognized as one of the most powerful businesswomen in America. She also finds time in her busy schedule to be a community leader, role model, and philanthropist. Catholic Charities of Dallas is among the many organizations to happily name her as a long-time friend and supporter. In the video above, Colleen shares her love of Catholic Charities of Dallas and explains why YOU should take action to become involved TODAY! ![]() Pauline Medrano, deputy mayor pro tem and council representative for district 2, is a lifelong resident of Dallas. Pauline’s highly accomplished career includes work as an ESL instructor for the Dallas Independent School District in the Adult Basic Education Department. She has also worked as the District Sales Manager for GTECH Corporation, District Director for the Texas Department of Agriculture and as a Congressional aide to former U.S. Representative Martin Frost. She was recently named as one of six finalists to be awarded the 2010 Women in Municipal Government Leadership Award. Pauline appreciates the importance of hard work, taking pride in whatever you do and sharing knowledge with others. Her motto is “Your success is determined by how many you help”. We are honored to share her motto’s theme of helping those in need and are greatful for her support of Catholic Charities of Dallas. |
