Volunteers are the heart of Catholic Charities of Dallas!
They impact every program and division of our organization– and for that, we are grateful! Without them, we could not affect the lives of the most vulnerable in our community. Volunteers are critical to our ability to effectively and efficiently serve individuals who are in need each year.
We have numerous volunteer opportunities– short-term and long-term, group volunteer opportunities, special projects and everything in between. You can be sure that you will find an opportunity best suited for your time, talents and personal preferences.
CCD welcomes all individuals to volunteer at our various service locations. Individuals, families, school groups, students in need of service hours, corporations and other organizations are invited to join in our mission to positively impact the lives of those in need in our community.
You can become a volunteer in 1-2-3!
- Search our Volunteer Opportunities page. Click “I’m interested!” on the opportunity of your choice.
- Register to attend an orientation on our Volunteer Orientation page. Attendance at a Volunteer Orientation is required for all volunteers. (This includes interns and service learning students.) All volunteers working with clients of Catholic Charities of Dallas must be “Safe Environment” trained and have a cleared background check on file with us. Both of these requirements are taken care of in the orientation. Annual Safe Environment training is required for all active volunteers.
- When you register for an orientation, an application will be emailed to you. Please bring your completed application with you to your volunteer orientation.
- Let your references know that we will be contacting them. Providing email addresses for your references on your application is preferred if possible – and will speed up the verification process. Reference verifications must be received prior to the start of your volunteering.
If you have any further questions, or need more clarification, please don’t hesitate to contact our volunteer coordinator or call (214) 520-6590 ext. 123.
“I didn’t think I could do it at first, but I wanted to use what I enjoy doing to help others. This has been a great creative way to use my skills for good and people appreciate it.” Seagram said.
He has enjoyed volunteering at CCD and would encourage others to volunteer. Read his story on our blog.
