About Mission and Social Concerns Just as Catholic Social Teaching is deeply rooted in Scripture and Tradition, so too is our call to serve the least- to promote the dignity of all and a culture of life and justice.
Pope Paul VI said "If you want peace, work for justice," and our US Bishop's affirm in Communities of Salt and Light: "The central message is simple: our faith is profoundly social. We cannot be called truly “Catholic” unless we hear and heed the Church's call to serve those in need and work for justice and peace."
This office, in collaboration with the Diocese of Dallas and many faith partners, seeks to advance the many activities of our Church in this mission of bringing about a more just society by protecting life and promoting the dignity of all our brothers and sisters from conception until natural death.
All are invited to join our efforts promoting a Church of Life and Justice:
Parish Social Ministry: Work in your parish to bring information and opportunities for action on Catholic Social Teaching, Justice, Mission and Advocacy.
Be a Special Collection Minister at your Parish: Help share information about the Special Collections.
Advocate!: Visit our pages on Local and International Poverty to connect to the many Catholic advocacy networks endorsed by the US Bishops.
Promote local anti-poverty justice work: Learn about The Catholic Campaign for Human Development and help us find organizations eligible for grant funding!
