Our Food Program is one of the first steps our agency takes to fight poverty by alleviating hunger. Every month, Catholic Charities of Dallas serves more than 10,000 meals to individuals and families across the city. The San Felipe Distribution Center, located in East Dallas, is where food is collected from food drives, volunteer donations or orders from the North Texas Food Bank.
The primary function of the distribution center is to ensure that each of our food pantries provides nutritionally balanced foods to our clients. We do this by collecting, sorting and providing an inventory of all foods that come to Catholic Charities of Dallas at one centralized location. Donations can be dropped off at any of our service site locations.
In collaboration with professional nutritionists and the USDA’s choosemyplate.gov diet guidelines, we provide boxes that are prepared to suit the health needs of individuals and families.
